Quiz 7.4 to 7.6

Chapter 7 - Day 9

As always, the goal of the quiz is to prepare students for the test.  It’s fairly normal for students to perform worse on the quizzes than on the test.  For this reason we wanted to make sure two different questions were on this quiz that students would probably struggle with.  The first was a question that required students to create a dotplot from sample data to see if the Normal condition was met.  The dotplot shouldn’t show any strong skew or outliers.  The second question dealt with using a given confidence interval to decide if there was convincing evidence.  The remainder of the quiz involved four-step significance tests.

Teaching Tip:

The second year we taught this, we broke the quizzes up differently and did lessons 7.1 to 7.4 for the first quiz and only 7.5 and 7.6 for the second quiz.  This kept proportions and means separate.
