The main goal for today is that students can conduct a significance test using the four-step process.  To keep the focus on that we continued using the free throws context but this time with Mr. Wilcox who claims to be better than an 80% shooter.  Just like in chapter 7 with confidence intervals, we’ve created a 4 Step Significance Tests Template to help students memorize the four-steps.  Students should be able to work through the entire activity.

Students will also be introduced to a two-sided significance test today.  It is not covered in the activity so you will need to make sure to go through it with students.  We suggest using the application problem that can be found at the end of the section in the textbook.
